Lymphedema is an insufficiency
in lymphatic drainage.
There is often an outside
factor which reduces the drainage of the once normal lymphatics.
Some causes are cancer, trauma, accidents, surgery, and
radiotherapy, just to name a few. These special problems
demand special care and our therapists have the touch.
Treatment includes lymph
drainage massage, medical compression bandaging (definately
not an ace wrap), and home exercises which include self-massage.
Patients tell us that they weren't able to go dancing...
and now they can dance. Of course, that was just one person,
but call to see what we might be able to do for you.
